“Lovely peaceful stay on outskirt of Lagos”
We recently stayed in the balcony apartment at Casa Beachcomber, the views across the gardens towards the sea were wonderful. We were very lucky to be the only guests and enjoyed the absolute peace and quiet, the joy of the balcony apartment is that even if the property is full you still have your own space and privacy. It is a bit of a track up a steep hill from the marina and a car is probably a good idea, especially if you want to carry groceries. We loved the living room which was light and airy, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need and the bedroom had so much natural light flooding through the windows and patio door leading out to the balcony, it was a joy. There is a fridge in the bar area by the pool so you can store cold drinks and there is also a BBQ for guests to use. Colin is a mine of helpful information about the area having lived there for so long and lovingly tends the property on behalf of the owners. We loved casa beachcomber, and we loved Lagos, We shall be back in June and we are looking forward to another week in the balcony apartment.

“Beautiful property on the outskirts of Lagos”
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Balcony apartment of Casa Beachcomber for a couple of days in august. The apartment was quite small, but quirky and well equipped, and we relished having a private balcony overlooking the grounds and pool area. The property itself is quiet and secluded, with beautiful gardens. Colin, the caretaker, an absolute character, was more than welcoming and only too happy to show us around the other apartments (we arrived on turnover day so the previous guests had just moved out).
Although it was a pleasant walk from Beachcomber into Lagos (around 15/20 minutes), I would recommend a car, especially if you’re planning on using local supermarkets, as it would be quite a hike back to the villa with a lot of shopping! The only downside is that there was no air conditioning in the apartment, although during the afternoon the breeze picked up and by evening it was actually quite cool, so this definitely wasn’t too much of a problem for us.

We stayed at Casa Beachcomber and had the Balcony Apartment for the last two weeks of July. Our flight was early morning and we arrived at Faro Airport just after 9 am and rang Colin (the caretaker) as requested to let him know of our arrival. Colin was so friendly and told us to come straight to the property as he already had it ready and waiting for us. This was music to our ears after the journey from Northamptonshire via Gatwick that we had begun at just after midnight !
Upon our arrival Colin gave us a genuinely warm and very friendly welcome, took our baggage and showed us to the Balcony apartment. Colin had thoughtfully got us milk, bread, cheese and fresh sliced meat in order that we were able to have a meal without having to do any shopping after our journey. We could not have been more happy with our choice of apartment – it was fantastic. The apartment itself was well equipped with a lovely newly fitted kitchen and tastefully furnished. The ceiling fan is a great touch and is needed during the day if you want to relax inside on the comfortable furniture.
The apartment has great views from the front, side and rear and the view you get from the balcony itself is breath taking and one that you will never get bored of. You can see Lagos town and the beautiful blue sea at Meia Praia. There is a great swimming pool at the complex that is never busy and a hot tub that can be used day or night with an added bonus of a large traditional oven type BBQ that you can use in the evening should you wish.
Colin is an absolute scream and available most of the day should you need advice on where to eat or go or anything else. He will bend over backwards to help you and nothing seems too much trouble.
Lagos town is a steady 25 minute walk and the beach is in easy reach and will take you about 15 minutes via a dirt track (directions via Colin) ! For food / shopping there is Pingo Doce supermarket which is about a 15 minute walk near to the town but there is a local shop just down the hill towards the marina. If you haven’t rented a car (which we didn’t) the check out staff at Pingo Doce will order you a taxi to run you and your shopping back to the apartment for about 6 euros (incl. tip). Lagos is our favorite part of the Algarve and we have visited here on five other occasions. When we return again we will most certainly return to Casa Beachcomber as it is, in our opinion the best property where we have stayed in this region and you would have to look long and hard to beat it, which I don’t think you could with the value for money / quality of property. Would I recommend this property – Yes, yes, yes !!! You can book Casa Beachcomber in the knowledge that you can rest assured you will have a brilliant holiday apartment with fantastic views and a superb location.

‘’A beautiful peaceful property just outside the town of Lagos’’
We stayed at Beachcombers in the Balcony apartment in September 2013. There was a lounge with very comfortable seating a well equipped kitchen a small bathroom with a spacious shower and a small bedroom with a triple aspect leading on to a large balcony from where you can see the sea. Colin who manages the property is always on hand for good local advice or if you have been before (as many have) a friendly chat. There is a large pool surrounded by ample good quality sun loungers and the scent of lavender coming from the excellently maintained gardens. There is also a hot tub and barbecue within the pool area. It’s a beautiful peaceful property just outside the town of Lagos so a car is desirable. Lagos has a myriad restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. We shall certainly return next year.

“Lovely apartment and location’’
We stayed here for 4 nights and from initial enquiry to arrival they couldn’t have being more helpful. The apartment is clean and very well equipped. The English channels are a nice bonus when you just want to sit in. The pool area is lovely and relaxing and the grounds are very well maintained. I would recommend a car for this location.

‘’“The apartment has a very homely feel’’
We booked the Balcony apartment at very short notice, for a short break. Everything was perfect, the apartment and the weather. We were very lucky to have the whole Villa to ourselves and felt very spoilt. The apartment has a very homely feel, is well equipped and has a real suntrap balcony. We loved it and will certainly book again.

‘’The Place Perfect”
I was looking for an alternate holiday somewhere different and I found it. This was a lovely experience from the short flight to arriving at the property. We were met by Colin who showed us around and the place was just perfect. We had the balcony apartment which has lovely views and is extremely comfortable. The facilities are good and we loved the place. Easy to walk to the beach or even the town. We wanted a holiday to enable us to walk daily and it was excellent and if you decided to stop for a late drink in the town the taxi back was reasonable. The owners who you book through are very helpful and keep you updated with changes. We loved it so much I have reserved the apartment to return next year. The area is lovely so much to see and enjoy and to have a nice place to stay makes your holiday perfect.

‘’Casa Beachcomber is a gem of a place’’
Lucked away from the hustle and bustle but within walking distance of the Marina and Lagos town a little further on. Having rented private villas for many years in large groups it was great to be able to avail of the same facilities but with a 1 bed apartment. From the moment of arrival there is a sense of peace and calm within the large grounds which are beautifully maintained by Colin. The selection of restaurants at the Marina is great but across the river and into the old town you are spoilt for choice. Coffee and brandy’s in the square listening to lovely music and then a pit stop at the marina before heading up the hill home. We took trips out to sagres, aljazur, Vila nova de milfonte and the mountains of the alentejo. Definitely hope to be back in the future.

I have just returned from Lagos on the Algarve staying at Beachcombers in the Balcony apartment. It was a fantastic property and the Balcony apartment was airy, spacious and comfortable. We could see the sea to one side and on the other the mountains of Monchique. We had a most comfortable bed in a small bedroom with a triple aspect, that led on to a large balcony with sun loungers for that all over tan and a view of the beautifully kept gardens. Just off the bedroom is a bathroom which has a large walk in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped although we eat out most nights as the choice of restaurants in Lagos is amazing. In the lounge are very comfortable chairs a large selection of books and a flat screen tv with all the freeview channels. Colin the property manager will do everything to make your stay enjoyable and is a mine of local information and couldn’t have been more helpful. The pool is very large with ample sun loungers where there is also a bar-b-q should you fancy cooking for yourself.
We enjoyed our holiday so much we plan to return next year.

I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic stay at Casa beachcomber in April. Myself and Kirsty had a superb time and absolutely loved the apartment. In fact we were trying to work out if we had enough friends to bring back and fill the whole villa! I also wanted to say how helpful Colin was. He gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations and also showed us the villa. Having food in the fridge for when we arrived was a great touch as well, and very much appreciated.”
